How To Make Some Quick Cash Before Christmas

Posted on October 27, 2026September 16, 2026 by vicky

It is now October and as soon Halloween is over, we will be heading towards Christmas at an incredible speed. But what happens when you don’t have enough money to start buying those much wanted Christmas gifts? You need to be imaginative and think of ways to raise some money quickly. Here are some ways to make some quick cash before Christmas.

Sell Unwanted Things On Vinted, Marketplace or eBay To Make Some Quick Cash

Have a good sort out and try to sell anything that you don’t use anymore. Even if you get £1 or 2, it will all help towards your Christmas fund. Sometimes, people get into a bidding war, if they really want something and you will end up making loads of money. You will need to package the parcels and send them off, but it will still be worth it to be able to buy those Christmas Gifts. You could even give a go at flipping things by using online sales platforms. Did you know you can buy some second hand clothes and bits from charity shops, garage sales or late season car boot sales and sell them on to make a profit.

Work Out Your Loyalty Points On Your Store Cards

If you have been saving up you store card points, now is the time to check in on them and see what you have accumulated. You might be pleasantly surprised at how much you have saved up. Especially if you have been savvy all year and made the most of bonus point opportunities. You can use supermarket loyalty points towards your Christmas food shop as well as gifts. Some shops also offer a chance to double points at certain times of the year too, so make sure you keep an eye on those offers.

Start Doing Questionnaires For Cash

Did you know that you can get paid to do questionnaires? They can be time consuming and you have to fit the profile that they are looking for, but questionnaires pay out £1 or a couple of pounds a time. So if you did 20 questionnaires a week, that could bring in £20 or more. I do find these time consuming, but if you do them whilst you are lying in bed in the morning, or on the bus to work then you are doing them to fill time too. You can give Prolific a go, as well as Swagbucks. But there are many more websites out there to try.

Rent Out Unused Spaces To Make Some Quick Cash

Do you have a spare room to let out to a lodger? Even if it is only tempoary, you could let it out for some extra cash. You will need to put up with someone else in your own home for a few months, but it will be worth it. If you live in the city and you have a driveway available, you can rent that out to someone who works in the city because it will be cheaper than them paying for parking. If you live near an airport, you can even make more money.

Offer Your Services As A Babysitter, Home Help Or Dogsitter To Make Some Quick Cash

If you are a mum, retired or qualified in childcare, you could offer your babysititng services to make some extra cash for Christmas. If you live in an area of mainly elderly people, you could offer your services as a home help to do the cleaning, get their shopping and just be a companion. The elderley will be grateful for your help and you can earn some cash. If you are a dog lover with experience with looking after dogs, you could be a dogsitter. But only do this if you have experience and love of dogs.

Try Some Freelancing Work Like Writing, Selling Digital Downloads Or Helping With Social Media

If you are good at writing, you could sell your written content online. Sign up to Fiverr and people will come to you with requests for work. People want genuinly written work instead of AI written content. So show off your flair for imagination and get writing. Some local busineses might need help with social media before Christmas because they are too busy to do it all. Digital downloads are so easy to create on a free version of Canva and then you can sell them on Etsy. You can even design books on canva to print and sell on Amazon.

Offer Christmas Decorating Help Or Christmas Gift Wrapping

People often dont have the time to decorate for Christmas, or they simply love Christmas but hate getting the house ready. So if this is the kind of thing you love doing, why don’t you get paid to do it? Offer you services and share pictures of your own decorated home at Christmas. If you have decoarated friends homes for Christmas, get them to write a review. You could also offer to gift wrap Christmas gifts for people. I love Christmas gift wrapping with the first few gifts, but by the time it comes to the 2oth one, I am done! So I would pay someone to wrap my gifts.

There Are More Ideas Out There

There are so many more ideas for making cash for Christmas, you just need to keep your eyes out. If none of this is any good for you, you could even look for a temporary Christmas job for some extra cash. What ever you decide, I am sure you will love it.
